Highland is 9-1 against Galion since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Highland Fighting Scots will head out on the road to face off against the Galion Tigers at 7:15 p.m. Highland is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Highland suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Monday. Their tough 54-28 defeat to Centerburg might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Highland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 458th, while Centerburg is ranked 172nd).
Highland's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Addie Mullins, who scored seven points, and Sierra Fitzpatrick who scored five points.
Meanwhile, Galion was beaten by Pleasant 67-13 on Monday.
Highland's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Galion, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Highland against Galion in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 49-22 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Highland since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
