The Coffee Trojans put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Jenkins 34-0 at home. The result was nothing new for Coffee, who have now won six matches by 21 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Coffee to victory, but perhaps none more so than Fred Brown, who rushed for 167 yards while picking up 8.8 yards per carry, and also picked up 69 receiving yards. Brown is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played. Anthony Paulk was another key contributor, gaining 133 total yards and three touchdowns.
Coffee's win was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.5 points per game. As for Jenkins, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coffee will take on Greenbrier at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Greenbrier is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Jenkins, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bradwell Institute at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
