The Academy of Science and Innovation Ravens can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Thursday. They breezed by Civic Leadership/AAE at home to the tune of 59-21. The victory was familiar territory for Academy of Science and Innovation who now have three in a row.
Academy of Science and Innovation's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Symber Ortiz-Sutton, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Maiara Rodriguez was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 13 steals.
Academy of Science and Innovation's lineup was just a bit different on Thursday as Phoebe Candy got a bit more time on the court (26 vs. her season average of 13.38). Candy made the most of the opportunity, scoring seven points along with five rebounds. A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.
Academy of Science and Innovation's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2. As for Civic Leadership/AAE, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Academy of Science and Innovation won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Academy of Science and Innovation has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Civic Leadership/AAE does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
