Rye came tearing into Saturday's contest with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Lamar Thunder. This was payback for the Thunderbolts, who suffered a 3-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.
The win didn't come easy: Lamar scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-20, 15-25, 25-19, 26-24.
Isabella Bond paced Rye's offense, picking up 13 kills. Bond got some help from Reese Simpson and her 20 assists. Simpson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Looking ahead, Rye will welcome Crowley County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lamar, they will head out on the road to square off against Liberal at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Thunder are facing the Redskins at the right time seeing as the Redskins are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
