Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Lloyd Memorial

Lloyd Memorial waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the St. Henry Crusaders get on the board and left with a 14-0 win. Considering the Juggernauts have won five games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Layla Laudick made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Mady Godsey and Lorelei Tomlinson did most of the damage at the plate: Godsey went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Tomlinson went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Tomlinson has posted since back in May of 2024. Railynn Brown was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Lloyd Memorial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive contests.

Lloyd Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for St. Henry, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lloyd Memorial will venture away from home to square off against Williamstown at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Henry, they will head out to take on Beechwood at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
