The Copan Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the Thackerville Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Even though Copan has not done well against Oaks-Mission recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Copan blew past Oaks-Mission, posting a 72-40 victory at home. The victory was just what Copan needed coming off of a 66-16 loss in their prior contest.
Copan's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Weston O?Rourke, who rushed for 126 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, and also caught a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Teegan Caron, who gained 133 total yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Thackerville had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 47.4 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They blew past Graham/Dustin 52-32. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Their wins bumped Copan to 5-5 and Thackerville to 8-2.
