Westside is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Greenville is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Westside Rams will take on the Greenville Red Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Westside posted their biggest win yet this season on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 86-42 win over Berea at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-19.
Westside can attribute much of their success to Zeke Marshall, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and six steals, and Joshua Williams, who scored 26 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tiyelle Hollings, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Greenville strolled past Easley with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 69-55. Given Greenville's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while Easley is ranked 142nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Westside has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Greenville, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.
Westside took their victory against Greenville when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 60-40. Will Westside repeat their success, or does Greenville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
