The Folsom Bulldogs had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 34-27 victory over Oak Ridge on Friday. Winning may never get old, but Folsom sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Ryder Lyons was his usual excellent self, throwing for 288 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.1% of his passes, and also punching in two touchdowns on the ground. Jameson Powell also helped out with an impressive 105 receiving yards.
Oak Ridge's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jadon Anderson, who picked up 174 receiving yards and a touchdown. Anderson was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 60 yards. Another player making a difference was Joaquin Graves-Mercado, who threw for 270 yards and two touchdowns.
Even if they lost, Oak Ridge's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: Folsom's QB was sacked 13 times before it was all said and done. It was a group effort, with three guys contributing.
Folsom's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Oak Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.
Folsom will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Pittsburg at 6:00 p.m. Pittsburg is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Oak Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
