Thor Raarup was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dylan Mika, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
The home team had won the previous six meetings between Eagle Valley and Steamboat Springs, and Eagle Valley kept the tradition alive. The Devils were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Sailors last Wednesday. 13 seems to be a good number for the Devils as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Eagle Valley got a massive performance out of Xander DeHerrera, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Ricardo Gutierrez was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Eagle Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .519. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in six consecutive contests.
Aspen's win bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Eagle Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Aspen has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .450. However, it's not like Eagle Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .504. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
