It was a proper cat-fight when Donovan faced off against Milford last Friday. Donovan fell 10-7 to Milford. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lily Anderson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Bailey Henneike was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Illinois Lutheran never let their opponents score on Monday. Everything went their way against Thornton Fractional North as Illinois Lutheran made off with an 18-0 win. With that victory, the Chargers brought their scoring average up to 7.6 runs per game.
Madison Permenter was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. That hit was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Illinois Lutheran let Lola Spada and Emma Nagle run wild. Spada went 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI, while Nagle went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Spada also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Azaylia Sanchez, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Illinois Lutheran always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Donovan now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Illinois Lutheran, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
