The Johnson-Brock Eagles put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Diller-Odell 72-34 on the road. Johnson-Brock has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 23 points or more this season.
Johnson-Brock got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lleyton Behrends out in front who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Behrends has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Koehler, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Diller-Odell lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cooper Morgan. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tj Vitosh, who scored 11 points.
Johnson-Brock's win bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Diller-Odell, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Johnson-Brock will take on Lewiston at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Lewiston focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday. As for Diller-Odell, they will head out on the road to face off against Southern on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Southern is ranked 170th, while Diller-Odell is ranked 157th).
