On Thursday, everything went Bishop Snyder's way against Ponte Vedra as Bishop Snyder made off with an 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won four contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Tristan Silver, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Perry, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Bishop Snyder always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ponte Vedra only posted an OBP of .316.
Meanwhile, Trinity Christian Academy beat Flagler Palm Coast 6-1 on Thursday. The Conquerors haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Trinity Christian Academy also got a great performance from Aaron Watson as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. Watson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Ethan Wheeler was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Aiden Arnett was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base.
Bishop Snyder pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Trinity Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bishop Snyder has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Trinity Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 12 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
