Basketball Game Preview: Early County Bobcats vs. Seminole County Indians

Early County has gone 8-2 against Seminole County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Early County Bobcats will host the Seminole County Indians at 6:00 p.m.

Early County is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Stewart County just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Royal Knights by a score of 55-52.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ty'Jerrica Russell, who posted 14 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. That's the most assists she has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nakevia Brown, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

Meanwhile, Seminole County had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.8 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They walked away with a 51-41 win over the Eagles. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Eagles are ranked 378th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Seminole County has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Early County, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.

Things could have been worse for Early County, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-38 loss to Seminole County in their previous meeting back in December of 2024.
