After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bastrop, Anderson was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Navarro Vikings 19-4. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won eight matches by 13 runs or more so far this season.
Brooke Lonsdale was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Genesis Ruiz was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Bella Patterson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
Anderson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in eight consecutive games.
Anderson has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.2 runs over those games. As for Navarro, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
As of now, neither Anderson nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
