Bayfront Charter is 2-7 against Coronado since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Sharks will face off against the Islanders at 4:00 p.m. Bayfront Charter has given up an average of 13.3 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Bayfront Charter fell victim to Mar Vista and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Mariners, falling 17-0.
While Coronado didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over Bishop's on Saturday. Considering the Islanders have won four contests by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Quinn Smock made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Smock was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Samantha Aldworth and Izzy Guymon did most of the damage at the plate: Aldworth went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double, while Guymon went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits Aldworth has posted since back in May of 2025. Tatum Munoz was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Coronado kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop's only managed seven.
Coronado is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Bayfront Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
Bayfront Charter might still be hurting after the 14-0 loss they got from Coronado in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. Can the Sharks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
