Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Nativity BVM

Nativity BVM waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They never let Weatherly get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 20-0 back in April.

NATE COOPER made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Nativity BVM let MATEO ARIAUDO and RYAN GRABOWSKI run wild. ARIAUDO got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI, while GRABOWSKI went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave GRABOWSKI a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of STEPHEN KARINCH, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Nativity BVM always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Nativity BVM's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Weatherly, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nativity BVM will challenge Shenandoah Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Green Wave's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Devils have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Weatherly, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Schuylkill Haven at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Hurricanes will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Weatherly surely won't give up without a fight.
