The Grove Christian School Falcons lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Friday was a bit more commanding. They were beaten by Richmond Christian 53-21. Grove Christian School has not had much luck with Richmond Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Grove Christian School saw an underclassman step up: Sidney Fisher scored eight points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Fisher is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played.
Richmond Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kailah Carter out in front who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Carter has scored at least a third of Richmond Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Trimble, who scored 11 points along with six steals.
Grove Christian School now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Richmond Christian, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grove Christian School will take on The New Community School at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The New Community School comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Richmond Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cristo Rey at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cristo Rey comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
