The McQueen Lancers had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Carson with a 54-48 win on Friday. The win was just what McQueen needed coming off of a 78-46 loss in their prior contest.
McQueen found their leader in underclassman Kade Snyder, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 17 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Hancock, who scored eight points along with 15 rebounds and four steals.
Carson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Michael Hughes, who scored 13 points. Dylan O'dell was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Carson struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as McQueen pulled down 30 offensive rebounds.
McQueen's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9. As for Carson, their loss was their 15th straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-14.
McQueen will take on Reed at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carson, they will head out on the road to square off against Spanish Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Spanish Springs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
