The Chisholm Trail Rangers's found some homefield redemption this week after a tough overtime loss to the Trinity Trojans on Friday. Chisholm Trail took down Paschal 50-36. Given Chisholm Trail's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Paschal is ranked 458th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Chisholm Trail to victory were Javon Smith and Kaden Richardson. Smith scored 13 points along with nine assists and seven rebounds, while Richardson scored 17 points along with five steals. That's the first time this season that Smith posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Archange Mutombo, who scored two points along with four steals.
Chisholm Trail is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Paschal, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-11.
Chisholm Trail will head out on the road to square off against North Crowley at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Crowley will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Paschal, they will be playing at home against Bell at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bell is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
