Basketball Recap: True North Classical Academy Comes Up Short

On Tuesday, the True North Classical Academy Titans were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 46-45 to the South Dade Buccaneers.

South Dade's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justice Sheppard, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Sheppard has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Jurnee Walters was another key player, putting up 17 points.

True North Classical Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-3 record this season. As for South Dade, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.

True North Classical Academy will venture away from home to face off against Academy for Innovative Education at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. True North Classical Academy is facing Academy for Innovative Education at the right time seeing as Academy for Innovative Education is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for South Dade, they and Somerset Academy South Homestead will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played.
