Baseball Recap: Cape Coral Comes Up Short

Cape Coral was the 10-0 winner over DeSoto County when they last played one another back in April of 2015, but their luck changed this time around. The Cape Coral Seahawks took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the DeSoto County Bulldogs on Friday. The Seahawks' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Julious Sinboualay made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-3. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Jordan Lambing was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Even though they lost, Cape Coral kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Cape Coral's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for DeSoto County, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cape Coral will head out to take on Oasis at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oasis has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.33 runs per game on average), something Cape Coral will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for DeSoto County, they are taking a road trip to face off against Hardee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
