The Rio Mesa Spartans will face off against the St. Bonaventure Seraphs at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many  points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
 Rio Mesa is probably headed into the  matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Oxnard just ended the team's  three-game winning streak  on Wednesday. They came up short against  the Yellowjackets, falling  34-12. The Spartans gained 56 more yards on the day, but it was the Yellowjackets that made the best use of them.
 Although Rio Mesa took the loss, they still got scores from  Sophia Ramirez and  Analysia Brewer.
 Meanwhile, St. Bonaventure was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight  loss. They took  a  20-6 bruising from Channel Islands.
 Rio Mesa now  has a losing record at 7-8. As for St. Bonaventure, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.
