Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Ursuline Fighting Irish walked away with it. They came out on top against Villa Angela-St. Joseph by a score of 27-20 on Friday. The victory was just business as usual for Ursuline, who after 13 games remain undefeated this season.
Ursuline got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Joe Balog out in front who rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown. Devonte Taylor did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 112 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Ursuline's win bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Villa Angela-St. Joseph, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
Ursuline will be playing in front of their home fans against Chardon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chardon is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games. Villa Angela-St. Joseph does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
