Southern Choctaw has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Excel Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Southern Choctaw never let their opponents score. They blew past Fruitdale, posting a 46-0 victory on the road. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Southern Choctaw just coasted through the last quarter.
Channing Hill had a dynamite game for Southern Choctaw, rushing for 144 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Triston Hill got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Excel's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 46-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of W.S. Neal.
Southern Choctaw's victory lifted them to 4-5 while Excel's loss dropped them down to 3-6.
Southern Choctaw lost to Excel at home by a decisive 38-19 margin in their previous matchup back in September of 2017. Can Southern Choctaw avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
