The Tri-State Christian Huskies will head out on the road to face off against the Morning Star Academy Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Tri-State Christian kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They were outmatched by Faith Christian on the road and fell 60-10.
Cloey Reuter was Tri-State Christian's leading scorer, having posted four points.
Alice Udelhofen held things down on the boards with four rebounds.
Meanwhile, Morning Star Academy suffered a tough 57-31 loss at the hands of Hillcrest Academy on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Morning Star Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 377th, while Hillcrest Academy is ranked 21st).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Addison Smith, who scored 13 points. She scored a full 41.9% of Morning Star Academy's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Violet Jewell, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds.
Tri-State Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Morning Star Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
