Auburn Mountainview has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The Auburn Riverside Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Auburn Mountainview will be strutting in after a victory while Auburn Riverside will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, Auburn Mountainview was able to grind out a solid victory over Beamer, taking the game 19-12.
It was another big night for Elijah Baird, who rushed for 138 yards on only nine carries. Baird's longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards. Isaiah Wallis-caw made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, Auburn Riverside unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 57-6 loss at the hands of Kennedy Catholic. Having soared to a lofty 54 points in the game before, Auburn Riverside couldn't push the score so high this time.
Auburn Mountainview's victory was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 4-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.7 points per game. As for Auburn Riverside, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Auburn Mountainview didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Auburn Riverside in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, but they still walked away with a 20-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Auburn Mountainview since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
