The Strasburg Indians will square off against the Highland Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
On Tuesday, Strasburg strolled past Platte Valley with points to spare, taking the game 59-41. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Broncos are ranked 165th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tyce Bollers continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 8 of 14 en route to 25 points. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Nick Glatfelter was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Highland's strategy against Wiggins on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Highland blew Wiggins out of the water with a 71-44 final score. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.
Strasburg better keep an eye on Brogan Palmer. He was instrumental in Highland's win, almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, Palmer is now averaging an impressive 2.1 blocks per game. Another player making a difference was Rowdy Watson, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 13 points and five assists.
Highland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matchups.
Highland's win bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Strasburg, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Strasburg hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 67.2 points per game. However, it's not like Highland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 64.5 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Strasburg came up short against Highland when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 63-57. Will Strasburg have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
