Marsing and New Plymouth are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2020, but likely not for long. The Huskies will be playing at home against the Pilgrims at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Marsing is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
Marsing is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Nampa Christian just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 9-5 to the Trojans.

Jace Chadez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Marsing is 6-2 when Chadez posts two or more runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Dresden Wood, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for New Plymouth, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Parma on Monday, sneaking past 11-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pilgrims have posted since April 22, 2024.
Marcus Garcia and Cooper Shaw did most of the damage at the plate: Garcia scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Shaw scored a run while going 3-for-5. Those three hits gave Shaw a new career-high. Ashton Robinson was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
New Plymouth kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
Marsing's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-4. As for New Plymouth, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Marsing has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .486. However, it's not like New Plymouth struggles in that department as they've averaged .470. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Marsing took their victory against New Plymouth in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0 score. Do the Huskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pilgrims turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
