The Mt. Carmel Sundevils won the last time they faced the Fallbrook Warriors, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Mt. Carmel walked away with a 53-43 victory over Fallbrook.
Raymond Hourani was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Blaine Raagas was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds.
Despite the loss, Fallbrook still got an impressive performance from Samuel Carmona, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Malaki Brotherton, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Mt. Carmel is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-12 record this season. As for Fallbrook, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-14.
Mt. Carmel will head out on the road to square off against Valley Center at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Valley Center focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Wednesday. As for Fallbrook, they will be playing at home against Escondido at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fallbrook and Escondido are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
