The Jimtown Jimmies will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Fremont Eagles at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Jimtown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.
Jimtown fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against South Central but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Satellites by a score of 55-52. Jimtown has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jimtown's loss came about despite a quality game from Justyce Williams, who scored 29 points along with eight rebounds. The matchup was Williams' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Kylie Wiegand was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Thursday Fremont sidestepped Fairview for a 53-51 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Fremont.
Jimtown has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Fremont, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Jimtown lost to Fremont on the road by a decisive 39-25 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2021. Thankfully for Jimtown, Jada Rhonehouse (who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
