District 10 Region 4 AA recap September 17, 2013
Fans got a thrill when Nathainel Smith and Cragg Liam connected against Fairview. The longest such play in District 10 Region 4 AA this season, the connection resulted in 67 yards.
Fort LeBoeuf scaled the state rankings by moving to 266 from 313 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bison were able to make move up by besting Seneca 27-0.
Corry's dynamic duo of Smith and Liam proved tough for the Tigers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Smith threw for 220 yards and 2 touchdowns and Liam had 133 yards receiving. Josh Silka helped Corry's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 40 yards.
The Beavers' dynamic duo of Smith and Liam proved to be unstoppable against Fairview, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Shannon Jackson was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 279 yards on 35 carries as Jim Brinling's team fell to Jim Brinling's team. Harold Coles also contributed to the rushing game with 86 yards on the ground.
Smith put up the best numbers in passing as Travis Carey's team lost to the Tigers.
He went 10-30 with 1 interceptions.
Jackson was a beast in the backfield as Fairview defeated the Beavers.
Liam was the best receiver in District 10 Region 4 AA this week as Corry lost to the Tigers.
The Beavers' Smith and Liam Cragg have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-4 quarterback Smith has thrown for 485 yards this season, while Cragg has 7 catches for 141 yards. Jackson from Fairview leads the league in rushing with 520 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when North East takes on the Tigers. As it stands, the Grape Pickers are in second, while Fairview is in fourth.
The Bobcats lost to Fort LeBoeuf 27-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Davyn Wettekin was a bright spot for Seneca, as he ran for 10 yards in the defeat.
