Austin Kent of Holt ran for the longest rushing play in Capital Area - Blue this season against Jackson last week. Kent ran for 60 yards on the play and finished with 90 on the day as his team beat the Vikings.
Holt was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. Earlier in the week, Al Slamer's team triumphed over Jackson 21-13.
East Lansing's dynamic duo of JAKE PENDRED and JAVON HAINES proved tough for Grand Ledge to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. PENDRED threw for 144 yards and HAINES had 83 yards receiving. CALEB GOODMAN helped East Lansing's passing attack out by catching three balls for 33 yards.
Ty Glover was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 112 yards on 19 carries as the Rams lost to the Comets.
East Lansing's PENDRED and HAINES have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Capital Area - Blue in both passing and receiving yards. PENDRED has thrown for 1018 yards this season, while HAINES, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 39 catches for 622 yards. Holt's Glover leads the league in rushing yards with 979.
The Rams' Glover is a mere 21 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Holt takes on Matt Bird's team. At the moment, the Rams are in third, while the Comets are in second.
Everett extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Sexton, 32-0. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Vikings.
