The Lamar Tigers are headed away from home for the first time to challenge the Jasper Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
It was a proper cat-fight when Lamar faced off against Miller on Monday. The Tigers lost 10-2 to the Cardinals.
Lexy Stephen was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and eight unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest earned runs she has allowed since back in April of 2025. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

In other batting news, Peyton Eddie was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played.
Jasper never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Osceola on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 21-3 margin over the Indians. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Like Lamar, Jasper also got a great game from a two-way player: Chloe Storm. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Storm was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jasper got a massive performance out of Natalie Storm, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those four hits gave Storm a new career-high. Aspen Lehman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Jasper always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Osceola only posted an OBP of .400.
Lamar now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Jasper, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Lamar got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March of 2025 against Jasper by a conclusive 16-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
