The Taylor Wildcats''s four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They snuck past Father Lopez with a 28-24 victory. The victory was just what Taylor needed coming off of a 56-6 defeat in their prior matchup.
Taylor's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josiah Smith, who rushed for 138 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Anthony Miler, who rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Despite the loss, Father Lopez still got an impressive performance from Jacob Lohman, who threw for 313 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Lech Sweeney, who picked up 123 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Taylor's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Father Lopez, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-8.
Taylor does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Father Lopez also has no future games currently scheduled.
