Haddon Heights proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 15) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out West Deptford 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Garnets have posted against the Eagles since May 2, 2019.
Meanwhile, Haddon Township was able to grind out a solid win over Palmyra on Tuesday, taking the game 11-8. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Jordan Strauss made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Haddon Township got a big performance out of Mikayla Callahan, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that Callahan has hit this season. Karsyn McCoy was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Haddon Township kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Haddon Heights pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Haddon Township, their win bumped their record up to 8-4-1.
