Make it six blowout wins for the Shenandoah Raiders this season. They claimed a resounding 53-25 win over Cowan on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Shenandoah has posted since December 9, 2023.
Shenandoah's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Haley Hughes led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Rory McKnight was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
Despite the defeat, Cowan had strong showings from Elizabeth Sizemore, who scored six points along with three steals, and Savannah Hall, who scored three points along with two blocks. Hall has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played.
Shenandoah's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-9. As for Cowan, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shenandoah will take on Franklin County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Franklin County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven last Saturday. As for Cowan, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Monroe Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Monroe Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cowan in Indiana (Monroe Central is ranked 142nd, while Cowan is ranked 347th).
