The Weber Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 61-45 to Layton. Weber found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 18 to 9 on offense.
When it comes to explaining why Weber lost, one person who can't be blamed is Logyn Howell. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points along with two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Howell has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Arbon, who scored eight points.
Oakley Homer was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds for Layton. Avery Potter was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Weber's defeat was their 12th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Layton, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-10.
Weber will be playing at home against Davis at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Davis presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Weber in Utah (Davis is ranked fourth, while Weber is ranked 92nd). As for Layton, they will head out on the road to face off against Fremont at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
