Last Friday, Pleasant Grove suffered a rough 63-41 defeat at the hands of the Wildcats. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Pleasant Grove has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Pleasant Grove had strong showings from Nathan Ruff, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks, and Pharrell Williams, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Williams posted two or more blocks.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Sheldon at home against the Blue Devils on Wednesday as the squad secured a 79-51 victory. Given Sheldon's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 480th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Pleasant Grove's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Sheldon, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.
