Greater Miami Academy is 7-0 against Archimedean since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Greater Miami Academy Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against Archimedean at 5:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Greater Miami Academy's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Archimedean has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Last Wednesday, Greater Miami Academy was the victim of a rough 50-30 defeat at the hands of Jewish Culture.
Meanwhile, Archimedean earned a 35-26 win over Horeb Christian on Friday. The victory was just what Archimedean needed coming off of a 89-40 defeat in their prior game.
Archimedean's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joseph Vega led the charge by scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Vega has scored at least a third of Archimedean's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Johan Basulto, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Greater Miami Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Archimedean, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-7.
Greater Miami Academy strolled past Archimedean in their previous matchup back in November of 2023 by a score of 48-31. Does Greater Miami Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Archimedean turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
