They came out on top in a nail-biter against Rocky River and snuck past 53-51. Given East Mecklenburg's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Rocky River is ranked 311th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Bryson Heath, who scored 26 points. The matchup was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. Ahmari Hicks was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 5 rebounds.
East Mecklenburg's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Rocky River, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Miles Leaks and Markiest Houston.
