They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 42-19 walloping at the hands of Oklahoma School for the Deaf. While losing is never fun, Tennessee School for the Deaf can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 326th in Tennessee, while Oklahoma School for the Deaf is ranked 157th in Oklahoma).
Tennessee School for the Deaf's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lamilliyona Stafford, who scored 9 points. Stafford scored a full 47.4% of Tennessee School for the Deaf's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maiyalene Utley, who scored 6 points.
Tennessee School for the Deaf's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Oklahoma School for the Deaf, their win bumped their record up to 1-4.
Tennessee School for the Deaf will be playing at home against N.C. School for the Deaf at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oklahoma School for the Deaf, they will head out on the road to face off against Milburn at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Milburn is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
