Despite the loss, Apollo had strong showings from Jennifer Lee, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds, and Jenna Dant, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds and two blocks. Lee continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Breckinridge County found their leader in underclassman Elizabeth Grimes, who scored 18 points along with four steals. Grimes is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline Lucas, who scored ten points along with five assists and three steals.
Apollo's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-15. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.2 points per game. As for Breckinridge County, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Apollo will take on Webster County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Webster County has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 22. As for Breckinridge County, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Meade County at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Meade County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
