The Girls Prep Bruisers will challenge the Signal Mountain Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Girls Prep is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.
On Thursday, Girls Prep made easy work of Knoxville Catholic and carried off a 14-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bruisers, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Bailey Long, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Gladden, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Girls Prep hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 13 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Signal Mountain). They never let East Ridge get on the board and left with a 27-0 win on Thursday. With that victory, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 7.8 runs per game.
May Collier made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those runs marked the first that she scored this season.
In other batting news, Berkley Roddy was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. Emilia Brauer was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Girls Prep pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Signal Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
Signal Mountain's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Girls Prep has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. It's a different story for Signal Mountain, though, as they've been averaging 9.3 hits. Given Girls Prep's sizable advantage in that area, the Eagles will need to find a way to close that gap.
Girls Prep took their victory against Signal Mountain when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 14-2 score. Do the Bruisers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
