Eleanor Funke was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and one stolen base while going 5-for-5. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Natalie Alvarez was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
Lincoln Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Whitney Young unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of Taft by a score of 3-2.
Liani Delgado was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out nine batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Whitney Young saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Lincoln Park now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Whitney Young, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-5-1.
