The Ocala Christian Crusaders scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 60-36 margin over Cornerstone Academy. The win was a breath of fresh air for Ocala Christian as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Conrad Bloom was the offensive standout of the game as he scored 22 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Gordon, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Cornerstone Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Raphael Valerio, who scored 12 points. Valerio continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Josiah Espy was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Ocala Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Cornerstone Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ocala Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bronson at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Bronson is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Cornerstone Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against HEART HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. HEART HomeSchool presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cornerstone Academy in Florida (HEART HomeSchool is ranked 357th, while Cornerstone Academy is ranked 793rd).
