Meanwhile, Cornerstone Charter Academy made easy work of East River on Wednesday and carried off an 8-2 win. The Ducks haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
The team relied heavily on Liany Rosario, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelyn Phillips, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
Cornerstone Charter Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Cornerstone Charter Academy's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs over those games. As for Montverde Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
