The Vail Christian Saints's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by De Beque 63-14. Vail Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-3.
De Beque's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Avery Rigsby, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 11 rebounds. Those 31 points set a new season-high mark for her. Allyson Sandidge was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Vail Christian bumped their record down to 1-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.0 points per game. As for De Beque, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vail Christian will take on Caprock Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Caprock Academy's defense has only allowed 25.2 points per game this season, so Vail Christian's offense will have their work cut out for Vail Christian. As for De Beque, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Grand at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. West Grand is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
