Sadly, the Buena Chiefs are still looking for their first win of the season after 19 matchups. They had to suffer through a rough 85-31 loss at the hands of Bridgeton. Buena was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 58-20.
Jameel Purnell was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds for Bridgeton. Purnell hasn't dropped below 11 rebounds for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Zikwon Anderson, who scored 20 points.
Buena's defeat was their 12th straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Bridgeton, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-11.
Buena will take on Egg Harbor Township at TBD on Monday. As for Bridgeton, they will be playing at home against Cedar Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Bridgeton is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.8 points per game this season.
