This season hasn't been kind to the Tacony Academy Charter Lions, who are still winless after their 14th game. They received a tough blow on Wednesday as they fell 52-38 to Martin Luther King.
Martin Luther King got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Makhai Robinson out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Robinson has scored all season. Isaiah Robinson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Tacony Academy Charter dropped their record down to 0-14 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Martin Luther King, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tacony Academy Charter will take on the at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. First Philadelphia Prep has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 14. As for Martin Luther King, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Wolves at 3:15 p.m. on February 1st. Hopefully Roxborough focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Tuesday.
