Baseball Recap: Wauconda Wins Going Away Against Wheeling

Wauconda won the last time they faced Wheeling and things went their way on Saturday too. The Bulldogs blew past the Wildcats 13-5. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Brayden Kirchwehm looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

On the hitting side, Wauconda got a massive performance out of Luke Sickmeir, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits Sickmeir has posted since back in March. Brody Rudolph also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Wauconda's record is now 8-9. As for Wheeling, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wauconda will take on Grayslake North at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wheeling, they will face off against Schaumburg at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
